Back in Gateshead there were 33 Black-tailed Godwit and 1 Greenshank. A walk around the tidal section of the Derwent gave 2 Kingfisher, 3 Grey Wagtail and a Common Sandpiper.

A difficult seawatch at Whitburn this morning with few birds and awful viewing conditions. I missed Paul's Spotted Redshank and a distant Shearwater was probably Balearic, but not certain through the haze. A few waders were heading south, including a few Whimbrel.
